Well, lets face it. I suck at updating my blog. Once a week isn't TOO bad though! What's new with my life? Here we go......

Ryan went on a week vacation with his friend Ryan. Ryan and Ryan are BFF' cute is that. I was at home alone which wouldn't have been so bad if Aden had not had to get 4 month vaccines at 7:30 on a Monday morning. Tell me please, what doctor schedules a screaming baby appointment at 7:30 on a MONDAY morning. To make matters worse, I heard something going on down in the diapey area and, of course, I had walked out of my house without the diaper bag. Great move on my part. After I went through the embarrassment of telling the nurse that I needed a diaper, I go to change it and NOTHING was in it. Awesome. Our REAL doctor assured us that we are NOT overfeeding him and even gave us free formula. What could be better than that?

When Ryan came home on Saturday he gave me 2 nighties and a pair of pj pants to wear to bed! I guess he is sick of me wearing my Big dog shorts from 6th grade and a Mcdonald's Big Mac shirt from the '80's. Hey, it's the burger with the grown up taste. The PJ pants were HUGE... I think they would have fit when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant... and if I was wearing them over my belly. So Ryan returned them and got me another nighty and my favorite flower! What a guy.

Aden has discovered the wonderful world of chewing on everything and anything. He falls asleep holding the blanket with both hands right by his face and his thumb in his mouth. If he doesn't have a blanket, he just uses his shirt... no big deal.
He also bounces in the tub. As in, pushes his feet against the end and bends his knees and pushes off. I remind him many times that bath time is cleaning time, it is not a jumperoo. Aden also got a brand new highchair! Feeding him oatmeal and prunes was a little difficult with him sitting on my lap! He has the chicco 360 hook-on chair. It's amazing! He even sat with the family for dinner this evening!
Tomorrow we are going on an adventure! Ryan, Aden and I are driving 9 hours (give or take) to the Georgia Cabin! There will be 18 people. I bet you are thinking large, luxurious house with plenty of room to spare. In reality, this is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin with no tv or dishwasher. Problem? Not for the Cook's! They've done it before and will do it again. and again. and again. We leave Saturday at 11 a.m and will return Friday, hopefully. What do you pack for a 4 1/2 month old? Everything. Any cute onesie that you think they might possibly wear you ust bring. Even if its a size too big, hell they might grow into in 6 days! You must go through all the possible problems. What if they washer and dryer break? what if he decides to have a poop disaster and must use 15 onesies in a day AND the washer is broken? It could happen. Definitely.

Ryan decided it was too much to drive my Jetta for 9 hours so the poor guy rented us an SUV. I think now he will be able to survive the 123 Kids songs that I bought the other day. That's right. 3 cd's, almost 40 songs on each. $9.99. Gotta love Target. This CD has everything on it... Barnyard Boogie AND Old Mcdonald- same song, different drums in the background. It even has a rap version of No More Monkey's Jumping on the bed. And of course, my personal favorite, Greensleeves.

We are comin Georgia Cabin!!!

**We are planning on coming back Friday but we do not know for sure. Ryan's Great Grandfather(Aden's Great Great Grandpa) passed away today at the ripe old age of 96. We will plan our trip accordingly.

Aden is officially 4 months old as of July 7th! What an old man!!

July 4th- Aden's first! We went to Grandpa Fred and Grandma Jamie's for a cookout and to watch fireworks. Aden had been up ALL day and wouldn't go to sleep and just got fussier and fussier as the night went on. We left at 9:45. No fireworks for us :( Next year will be better though! (Hopefully)

July 6th- Aden had been SCREAMING before taking his bottle. It would take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to soothe him before he would eat. And yes, he WAS hungry. I took him into the doctor to just check things out. It wasn't our normal doctor because he was out for the week due to his wife having a brand new baby! Anyways, this doctor told me he is eating too much (6-8 ounces every 3 hours) and I should only give him 6, if that, every 3-4 hours. Um, NO. First of all, you cannot overfeed a baby. Second of all, it's not like he is obese. Third of all, look at his parents. We aren't the biggest people ever. Fourth of all, SHE can come over and try to only feed him that much and see how that works out. I will feed my child when he is hungry. Enough said. Aden weighed 14 pounds 5 ounces. His real 4 month check up (which was delayed a week) is on Monday. We'll figure out percentiles then! Turned out Aden had a sore throat. We gave him tylenol a couple times and now he's back to his old self!

July 7th- Aden is 4 months old! Pippa, Adriana, Aden, and I all went to the pool! Aden got in a little bit but it was freezing! We just sat under the shade for a couple hours and then left. So exciting :)

July 9th- My mom babysat Aden while Ryan and I went to Shadowbox with Fred and Jamie! It was so fun and I had a delicious pepperoni sub!

July 10th- Ryan and I went to see Bruno! It wasn't as funny as Borat and pretty vulgar in a lot of parts but it still made me laugh out loud A LOT! Ryan got me a HUGE bucket of popcorn... on accident. What kind of movie theater only has one size of popcorn?

July 11th- Ryan left early this morning to go to Tennessee with his bff Ryan. (I know, Ryan and Ryan hahaha) So for another week (all last week he worked 9-5 and was sick on top of that) I'm doing the mom gig by myself! I will be so happy for him to come back. On top of that, Aden has been the fussiest little monster lately. He just refuses to take naps! What up with that!

So once again I have failed in the "posting often" area. It takes me awhile to come up with so many witty comments :)

We haven't had any more diapey days seeing as it has been 70 and windy-ish here in Columbus! I don't understand this weather! It is JULY people! Aden has worn PANTS the last two days. blah.

Last Saturday we went to Ryan's Grandma's family reunion. You would not believe the number of family members Ryan has in Ohio. I'm pretty sure will be "Bring Your Own Food" if we plan on getting married... Don't worry though, we'll supply the water and Styrofoam cups!

Aden is growing by the minute. He has been eating 6-8 ounces of formula every 3 hours. It totals out to be a whopping 36- 48 ounces a day. I weighed him about 2 weeks ago and the scale said 13.5 pounds. I think it's more now. He fits very well into size 3 diapers. We have been trying cereal but now I'm scared of constipation! (OH a mother's worries!) He isn't sure about the texture of the cereal yet but he has really gotten a hang of the spoon!  I've read that a lot of times babies don't like textures of cereal and if that is the case, try something thinner, like an orange vegetable. Well, we tried squash and let me just say, it was an EPIC FAIL. I'm not sure if it was the over-tiredness, him being full, or the actual squash itself, but he took one bite and sobbed the whole time. That was enough to scare me off the stuff for another 2 months. But hey, every new mother tries things and fails at some point. Just another learning experience I suppose. Since the squash incident he has had one feeding of cereal and that's it. I think i'll just wait for his 4 month appointment (which was moved back ANOTHER week) on July 13. I'm not up for traumatizing Aden any more than I have to.

So I know, you are asking "What are your plans for the 4th?"

Well, Ryan and I did have a babysitter for Red White & Boom tonight (the 3rd) but Ryan came down with the flu and so I am being pitiful and watching it on tv. He promised we'd go next year though! Tomorrow Aden and I are planning to go to Ryan's dad's house to watch fireworks. Ryan is staying at his dad's house to prevent Aden and I from getting the flu, lets just see if this works. So, tomorrow, if Ryan isn't feeling better, he is confined to his room. Poor guy.

Yesterday was a horrid day. Aden usually wakes up at 6 a.m to eat and sleeps until 9 and then wakes up for about an hour to eat and play and then takes a morning nap (20-40 minutes), an afternoon nap (1-3 hours), and an evening nap (15-30 minutes) and falls asleep around 9, 9:30. Well! Yesterday he woke up at 7:00 a.m. and slept until 10:30 a.m. He would not eat. He would not sleep. He would not sit. He wanted to be carried, held, walked around, and jiggled ALL DAY. He took about two 20 minute naps. It got to the point where he was so tired he didn't know what to do with himself. He finally went to bed at 10:30 and slept until 6, when he started a normal (thank goodness) day today!

Also, on Monday I got a "day off" thanks to my mom and went to the pool with my sister Lizzie! I figured since I rarely burn and I would only be there for a few hours, I wouldn't wear sunscreen. bad choice. I got red definitely. It only hurt the day after, which is the good news. Bad news, I have raccoon eyes. I also thought I should keep my big sunglasses on all day... oh dear.

That's all folks!
