Last REAL night of spring break!

Saturday was the last REAL night of spring break. So what do you when you have a child upstairs and its your last night off? Cheesecake and margaritas baby.

After he went to bed my caity-girl came over and we has cheesecake&margarita night... AMAZING. Oh and of course there was some good old fashioned facebook creeping in there too. So yeah, Cheesecake&Margaritas > Panama.

And yes, Caitlin WAS there with me but she deleted all of the pictures of her :(

Aden's Easter Basket Goodies

Since this is Aden's second, yes... SECOND Easter, I decided to make him an easter basket. I mean... the Easter Bunny decided to make him an easter basket. Mr. Bunny told me the goodies he plans to put in it!
- bath basketball.. because you know, we don't have enough sport-themed things.
- a bath toy bag.. for all of his bath toys
- Crayola tadoodles. They are markers to fit the grasp of a 1 year old. LOVE crayola. Neat stuff!
- 2 books... "Mama Loves Me" and "Barnyard Dance"
- 12 eggs that will be stuffed with cheerios and puffs

Nothing big! Just some cute things that the Easter Bunny thought Aden would enjoy!

A day in the life.

I was so proud of myself, I was SO productive yesterday! And since you are reading this, It means that yes, you want to know what I did. So let's begin.

1. We LOVE The Laurie Berkner Band! They are on Jack's Big Music Show (On Noggin) and Aden dances along with them. AND I can actually stand to listen to their songs, unlike yo gabba gabba which just thoroughly gets on my nerves. So I spent Aden's morning nap downloading The LBB and made 2 cd's to listen to while we play in his room. He definitely doesn't like them as much as "Break ya Heart" by Taio Cruz, but they'll do.

2. Went grocery shopping! This is always an event. Packing up to leave takes more time then it takes to drive there. We got some great fresh fruit and some other good snack time things. I am no refusing to by the Gerber Lil' Crunchies:
because I believe they have some kind of addictive spell on children and parents. Yes, I have eaten more than a can at a time. and yes, they are delicious. So we are finding new snacks that are healthier and just as delicious. Turns out he loves loves loves boiled eggs. Not scrambled though. Oh, and mustard. he loves mustard.

3. All of Aden's toys seemed to need new batteries at the same time, of course. One toy takes FOUR C batteries. Who the heck buys C batteries in bulk? Apparently I need to. At the store we picked up every kind of battery imaginable and gave about 7 toys brand new batteries. Talk about time consuming. Must every toy make noise?

4. Muffins! Homemade blueberry of course! With the perfect sugary crumble topping to make it THAT much better. They were super easy too. Only about 25 minutes to bake. Sad thing is, it only made nine! I'm gonna need to double it next time, that is for sure!

5. That whole poo-splosion. Had to clean that up of course. I don't think you understand the severity of grossness that went on inside that diaper. Biggest mistake: I KNEW he pooped but i wanted to see if he was finished so i pulled out the diaper with my finger.... yup, you guessed it. Poop on the finger. So yes, it took awhile to get the poo-splosion fixed and everything NOT smelling awful.

6. Laundry. Seriously this is a never ending chore. I used to like it but it's seriously just old now. At least in a few weeks when it gets warmer I'll have new summer clothes that i'll be folding and thinking about how adorable they are instead of these winter ones that he has been wearing since last October.

7. Tanning. Okay, this totally counts as something productive because I had to get in my car and drive alllll the way to the tanning place and then lay in peace for 20 whole minutes and then drive alllll the way back home. SO stressful, I know.

8. Worked out. If you can qualify it as a workout. After doing the dishes of 6 people and cleaning all day and chasing aden around, I was exhausted. I did a half-assed 20 minute workout. Then just sat on the floor for another 20 minutes watching the lady doing what I should have been doing.

See? I can be productive too!!!!

POO-SPLOSION!!!!!!!

While most people are on spring break enjoying the sun in panama, I'm cleaning up a HUGE poo-splosion in the half-liquid, half-solid form.

Thanks for the present A-Man!!!!

Sunday Morning Breakfast

SO for my first sunday home in the morning with Aden in 10 weeks, I decided to make a delicious breakfast! Time is limited since he wakes up and WANTS TO EAT. I even have to give him cheerios while I am preparing so he doesn't just cry the whole time. Anyways, we ended up just having apple cinnamon pancakes and cheesy eggs. Of course most of it ended up in Teddy's fur! We saved the leftover pancakes for tomorrow morning.

It is such a special special treat to be on my spring break! Even though I only have 2 classes a week, I take online classes as well. Every nap time I spend doing my homework or studying. It's hard to take him places like the zoo or library because that is time when I could potentially be doing my schoolwork. It feels awesome to just focus on him.

I also made Aden an awesome Disney's Greatest CD. We have Disney's greatest hits volume 1 but it definitely doesn't have all the good ones. Here is what we have on our new cd:

1. Under The Sea (Little Mermaid)
2. I Just Can't Wait to be King (Lion King)
3. Gaston (Beauty & The Beast)
4. Hakuna Matata (Lion King)
5. Bonjour (Beauty & The Beast)
6. Be Our Guest (Beauty & The Beast)
7. One Jump Ahead (Aladdin)
8. Never Had a Friend Like Me (Aladdin)
9. Prince Ali (Aladdin)
10. Carrying the Banner (Newsies)
11. The Bare Necessities (Jungle Book)
12. Step In Time (Mary Poppins)
13. Poor Unfortunate Souls (Little Mermaid)
14. Welcome To Duloc (Shrek)
15. Main Street Electrical Parade
16. Part of Your World (Little Mermaid)
17. Let's Go Fly a Kite (Mary Poppins)
18. It's A Small World (I don't know what this is from but i'm already regretting putting it on)
19. Tiki Tiki Tiki Room (Same as #18)
20. Be Prepared (Lion King)
21. Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas)
22. Heffalumps and Woozles (Winnie the Pooh)
23. Oo-De-Lally (Robin Hood)
24. Following the Leader (Peter Pan)

AMAZING right!?

Spring Break Picnic

Me, Aden, Adriana, and Pippa went to the park to have a picnic!! Our children got Muuuuuuuuuuuddy. It was so fun to watch them interact together. How in the world has a year gone by?

We are planning a zoo trip next week! (Aden and I rescheduled ours to go on the picnic instead)
We are just loving this nice weather. Yesterday we are our snack of Graham crackers, applesauce, and milk outside in the front yard on a blanket. Then we relaxed and blew bubbles afterward. I've gotta say, this spring is way more fun than last spring. As in, we can actually go outside and hang out.

Success!!!

When I was about 8 weeks pregnant, I was wearing size 12 in little girls shorts and my mom goes "Won't be wearin' those anymore!"

Guess who was wrong.

That's right. 1 year and 7 months later, that's whats-a-happenin.

Spring Shopping!

For Aden of course! We went to once upon a child and sold some of his old clothes and had some birthday money to get a new spring, summer, and fall wardrobe. It is REALLY sad because we have officially outgrown all of the baby shower and pre-baby clothing. I guess I should of bought bigger sized stuff even if it wasn't as cute!

We went to gymboree because we had some great deals there! Pippa found us things for 2.99 and 1.99... Amazing! My favorite place to get jeans and shorts are from Old navy so of course we used the leftover money for some of that. I used to have a really bad carter's obsession! The thing about Carter's is a) It shrinks. Really really really badly. At 3 months, he was in 6 and 9 month clothing. and b) It is more for younger babies. It has a lot of print and characters on it. I just wanted to go a more grown-up route now. Plus, 40% off at gymboree? I can't resist THAT.

Here are some of our new outfits:
Sea Turtle TeePlaid Cargo Short
Chest Stripe Polo ShirtNavy Cargo Short

Plaid Short Sleeve ShirtI Eat My Greens TeeBelted Short
Plaid Alligator TeeAlligator Polo ShirtAlligator TeePatchwork Short

And yes, I bought my child jorts. They are cute, okay?! The last t-shirt is from old navy and I got it in white and gray as well. 20% off baby!

Aden's birthday!!

As we all know, AJK had his very 1st birthday and party on March 7!!!!! It went fantastic! He was pretty tired and not up for smashing much of the cake but soon got over his tiredness when he realized that everyone was staring at HIM only. I swear, this boy THRIVES off of attention. As long as someone is looking at him he just keeps going and going and going. Needless to say, he slept like an angel that night.

His 1 year appointment was Monday March 8 with our most favorite pediatrician who I will recommend to anyone and everyone! Aden weighs 21 pounds 8 ounces and is about 29.5 inches long. For being such a little guy when he was born (6 lbs 15 oz, 18.5 in) he sure has grown to be a big guy! He is getting both of his 1 year molars in (Remember how much I hate teething?) and has a cold now but nothing too bad! Doctor was ALL FOR our extended rear facing! **For anyone who doesn't know, the law requires you to have a rear-facing car seat until 1 year and 20 pounds. Research has now been done to prove that still at that age/weight, they are safer rear facing. Aden is completely comfortable in his carseat so I find no reason at all to change it forward- facing. Aden is now drinking 1 bottle of formula in the mornings or when he wakes up at night (I'm telling you. I. hate. teething.) and the rest Organic Whole Milk. We decided to go the Organic route because of all of those dang hormones they put in that milk.

Aden can finally pull himself up to stand and has dropped the army crawling COMPLETELY as of this weekend. He holds on to things and walks along side of them. He is very very active (as always) and gets into everything. I cherish every moment I get to spend with him!

Aunt Erika got to come home for TEN days! woo woo! We had so much fun shopping and spending time with her and we are all very sad she is gone. Did I mention she is the one who made all of Aden's amazingly delicious cupcakes!? We miss her so so much!

Vent of the day.

Have you ever been out somewhere and you KNOW that everyone is talking about you? For the past year and 9 months, It seems like I have been at the top of everyone's gossip list. I know what is being said, and it's pitiful. Yep, I'm a young mom. Yep, i'm 19 and have a 1 year old son. Yep, i'm still living with my parents. Yep, I'm going to school and YEP, I'm single. And guess what? It could happen to you too. But it didn't.

Think before you judge.
